What does a family need to be truly a family? Love. That is all! Nothing else matters. Defending this idea is the main purpose of the 4th European Rainbow Families Meeting, which is going to take place in Lisbon, Portugal, from 15th to 18th October. This European encounter is the perfect opportunity for all kinds of families to share experiences and learn more about children of LGBT parents.
How can I get involved? All the registration information you need is on the official website. And what about the fees? The prices from August 1st to September 30th are:
- Adults or Children 12+: 235€
- Children (5-11): 140€
- Children (up to 4): 60€
The registration fee includes:
- Meeting materials and merchandising.
- Full board: breakfast, lunch, dinner (from dinner Thursday to lunch Sunday).
- Admission to talks, workshops and activities in the official program.
- 3 Nights accommodation (where applicable).
The program is full of activities, talks and workshops. We show you those we consider more interesting:
- Rainbow talk, Lena Herrmann-Green. Lena Herrmann-Green is among the first children born to lesbian parents in Germany. She and her family were active in the rainbow family community in Southern Germany. Lena also participated in raising public awareness via interviews in books on children of LGBT parents and in a documentary film of her family: Mami, Mama und drei Kinder (SWR, 2008).
- Workshop Sociodramatizing our lifes: play and share. In this workshop, we’ll use sociodrama techniques to approach our common values and to improve our personal – and family – awareness.
- All together now. If you want to meet a lot of families and see what you have in common while having fun, this is the place to be. Let’s share our love and meet new families from different realities.
